i started by heating up the molding piece and then slowly using a razor or flat head, scrapped every piece off of it, should be bare metal after that. Masked off the window and door and sprayed the first coat with primer just so it would stick because i had trouble with it sticking to the metal. after the primer, i just used a flat black or semi-flat black (cant remmeber now), and put 3 coats on. Has held up through the winter and is still fine. hih
