Timing belt is the longest of long shots IMHO.
My bet is that air is still trapped in the clutch lines and that it needs to be re-bled. I'd try that first.
Just out of curiosity:
*Did the clutch pedal feel more stiff?
*Did it require more effort &/or pedal travel to disengage the clutch fully?
