I have 140,200 miles. I averaged 85 MPH the whole way, going between 75 and 95 depending on traffic. I took it up to 140MPH on a stretch of highway that was deserted.

I mean, I only hit VTEC twice...once when I was chasing a 350Z out of the gas station, then when I went for the speed run. But 29.5 MPG?!?!? The highest I've EVER gotten before was 27.8, and that was doing 72-75 all highway.

I mean, sure she's got her problems. The tranny is starting to go because the reverse synchro is messed up I think, the shocks are blown and I don't have the money to fix them, but this car is amazing.

$18.40 from NYC to Syracuse is pretty impressive. Even more impressive is this car 140,130 miles after the day I bought it.

A lot of things could depend on why your gas mileage may have been higher than in the past. Examples:

Amount of stop and go with the higway traffic
Tire Pressure (Big Influence)
Amount of Luxuries running on in the car (A/C)
Extra weight in the car
Possibly a Cleaner Air Filter

...Could be anything that helped you get better MPG, so just be happy that you got better MPG even as the car gets older.
