The bolts I"m guessing they're refering too are the one below the shifter. There are two that go through a rubber bushing that hold the shifter up in the car back under your exhaust system. I guess if they're tighened down too far, you could have a binding issue?
A slave cylinder is the part bolted to the front of the tranny that actually pushes the pressure plate, going through a swing arm (right word?) and then the throwout bearing, when you push the clutch pedal in. You can identify it on the front of the tranny as a little black metal cylinder with 2 bolts holding it to the tranny. It will have a hard brake line going to it, a bleeder on 1 side and the other side will go into a square rubber boot. It may be the issue, as well as the clutch master cylinder which is bolted to the firewall and is right of the brake master cylinder if your looking from the front. I'm guessing you checked the tranny had fluid?
