I have a friend that works at a bodyshop but can't do mechanic work so I fix his car when he runs into problems and he gives me a shot at buying every totaled import that comes his way. I then in turn give friends of mine a shot at it if I don't want the car. My buddy just got a black 98' hatch with rota's, coilover's, and rebuilt DX motor in it for $2,000.00. It has damage to the rear quarter but he does body work for a living so it's all good. Other than that the car is in perfect condition. I too save for my projects, I am anal when it comes to incurring debt. I guess that's why i'm in collections. I have a sears credit vard and that is it, everything else we buy cash.
