The Y chromosome doesn't pass on any genetic information, the genetic info is stored on the X. For the colorblind thing, I would say that colorblindness is probably a recessive trait, which would mean that she had to have received it from both parents. Since she is a she, she received a copy of her father's X chromosome, which must have held the colorblindness. Her mother must be at least a carrier. I think that's right. I'm rusty on this stuff.
