Some other differences between the 97 and 98 ITRs and the newer ones, is that not only did they change the computers to accomodate for the longer durration in the intake cam, but in addition they also use a whole different harness, funny enough, the motor still uses all the same sensors..... Go figure. In any case, they switched intake cams because honda wanted to save on production costs, so they just started using Civic Type-R intake cams, this way they only needed to produce one set of type-r cams since both the exhaust cams were already identical. If you have a 97 or 98 you can easily switch out the intake cam for either a newer ITR cam 00' and up, or a 98' and up civic type-r intake cam, we dynoed it out to be anywhere from 5-7whp just drop in, on the three that we've tested.
