Recently the WFA Administrator for our company resigned to take over his father's business and the positiong opened. There was 61 applicant's for the position after it posted and everyone knew that a person that currently works in our department would no doubt, get the job. He was offered not only that position but another position that he was more interested in and ended up accepting that instead.
So today, our IT Manager came up to me and told me to see him when I got a chance. We went into a small conference room and he told me to go home and update my resume and to come to him if I had any questions about the job. He said we can even go out to lunch and have a beer while discussing it sometime if I needed anything. At this point I'm like

!
The position is administering all of our WFA equipment/towers/computers. Basically we use computers in all of our company vehicles and I would be the person in charge of all of this. The downside is that WFA is about to undergo a huge upgrade and I would be entering at a hectic time. The good points is that it pays upwards of $55k; not bad for a 25yo with no degree whatsoever. I would also pretty much be my own boss and have no one under myself. There would be some traveling to Atlanta/Vegas and other sites for training.
What do you think?
Cliff Notes: I'm up for a big promotion!! Wish me luck!!
