My friend has ls/vtec (b18a block, itr pistons, built gsr head). The motor was built by a very good tuner from dallas (used to be kenny trans head mechanic, now works for chris rado) and the motor still burns oil. All the b series vtec motors come with them for a reason. If you plan on running stock internals and boost it would be a very good idea. They are kind of hard and pricey to install and in ls blocks there is a clearance problem with the crank. The oil squirters will really help cool the pistons and help prevent detonation. If you upgrade to forged internals you should be alright without them.
