You still have to be fair.
OK in a right to work state or Commonwealth: "You're fired. I am not giving you or your lawyer any kind of reason."
NOT OK in a right to work state or Commonwealth: "A co-worker complained about pornography on your computer. You're therefore fired."
If you fire someone without giving a reason, that's always the safe thing in those places that call themselves "right to work."
