I had no idea they'd get that hot in an autocross.
My readings with my pyrometer showed around 115-120 degrees they get slick. This is on a hot summer PA day on cured asphalt.
And it also shows during winter autocrosses where STS/STX beats most of the classes on DOT R tires.
The track day I did at VIR in Feb 2002 it was a cool 50 degrees and my instructor thought I was on R tires due to the grip. That weekend they never got greasy.
