I don't know what I'd do in your shoes. I want more power too, but I like slaughtering everyone in STS

you have that luxury. My VX is very unhealthy right now (and I don't really see the situation improving, because I'm not willing to put any money into it). It's probably putting something like 50 or 60 to the ground right now, which -as little as overall power matters in autocross- is barely enough to get me by in STS right now. (I got dead last at an event for the first time this season--a faster, wide-open course

)
There is a guy doing OK in SM in my region in his turbo LS (Weston, he posts here sometimes I think), but he's getting more into the solo trials (timed roadracing), I don't really know how well he's been doing at the autocrosses. I would be happy to get more into the solo trials, but my car isn't technically legal (neither is his) because SM cars need a roll bar (he can slip by tech by classing his car OSP--"other" street prepared). But if I want to be competitive at a regional level, I have a number of rules to take into considerarion. If I
did turbo the shitbox, I'd definitely get more into the solo trials (still haven't done one personally), but that just brings a whole other set of concerns into the picture :dunno:
as you can see, I'm torn
:edit: its funny you mention the intercooler problem... my roomy is working on fabricating an intercooler bypass pipe on his SM saab (straight from turbo to throttle body--like two feet of total plumbing :eek3: ) to work with his water injection so he has better throttle response on the autocross course.
