that is a truly sad outlook. i never even dated anyone i could just tolerate, or if it got to that point, then i ended the relationship. obviously, i can't speak for all married couples in the world, but i know that i married my absolute best friend, the one person in the world who knows 100% everything about me, the person i have the most fun with, etc. if that's a rarity these days, then i guess there's not much hope for mankind.
