Its not called being closeminded, but hey if thats what you think then its fine because you are entitled to your opinion. Some people need the constant reminder that they have someone, hence most people can't spend a week being single and would rather be with someone totally obtuse from who they are than be alone. I am different, I am not clingy and I am able to function perfectly on my own. One of my close friends is dating a girl that smokes, he hates people that smokes and I told him that he was doing it because he can't be alone and needs constant attention and that is absolutely correct.
