There are complete pre built kits, or you can construct your own rollbar. Which are you looking into?
Roll bars: looking for max protection... duh... I'd prefer doing it on my own since I think a prebuilt one might need more work than a do it yourself.
Gear: I found a site called saferacer.com that has price on racing gear. Looks like a suit, helmet, gloves, shoes and undies is gonna run me around $2300. Doing a guesstimate on a rollcage, racing seats and racing harness my total comes to around $5000. Guess if I am really interested I outta write to SCCA and find out what all safety gear they require.
