I almost did the exact same thing. I was about to buy the dissasembled, stripped, and choped CRX for 300, but someone offered alittle more than me, so no rex for me. 300 is alot when you dont have a job

I am gonna save every penny I can, I am determined to atleast have a car sitting on our driveway on blocks by the end of the year. Sure $1k seems like nothing to most people, but when you are broke like me its a lot of money.
