Yes, I know. Physics 2109 and Thermodynamics 3091 explained it all in great detail

What I was trying to say is, all other things being equal, at a set RPM

more torque = more accleration.

Horsepower is just an arbitrary figure, designed to show how this torque value applies over a dyno curve... and to "sell cars" as the saying goes.
