I fail to see how this is an effective deterrent to drunk driving. I'd be in favor of mandatory driving suspensions lasting at least one year, without any exceptions.
Most people who get a DUI with a suspended lisence end up driving anyway during the suspension. This plate thing isn't new there are some states that do this from what I understood.
