You can really shift any way you'd like. Just make sure you are smooth so you don't tear up the clutch. You'll actually save fuel doing this as well. Sounds like you've gotten aquainted with the torque curve of this car, eh? Especially when going from a 4 cylinder. I drove the Accord six speed and was in awe at the low end torque of the 3.0L.
You're not kidding. As I said before, I have NO problem starting the car from a stop in 2nd. Hell, if Im on the highway cruising about 60-70 and I'm in 6th, I can pass someone without ever downshifting!!!
