Hey there, as some of you probably know I just got my 04 Accord Coupe 6-speed 2 weeks ago, and this is only my second car with a manual transmission.

My question relates to skipping gears. My old Civic was stock and not very fast, so I needed all 5 gears to accelerate. However, the Accord has so much power, that even rowing through the gears, by the time I get to 5th gear, Im already doing over 40. If I shift any faster, its like shift shift shift shift all right away.

So the other day I started practing starting from a stop in 2nd, and then going straight to 4th without ever using 1 or 3. It seems to work well, I dont have the shift much, and the engine makes enough power to pull through those gears, but I wanted to know if this was somehow bad for the transmission or the engine?
