hmm, let me word it differently for you.
if you were cruising at say, 35mph, you had to open the throttle 30% of the way open. now with intake, you have to open the throttle ~27% of the way open to maintain the same speed, because the aftermarket intake flows better than the stock airbox. this is because you need a specific amount of air to get inside the engine in order for your engine to put out enough power to make your car cruise at 35mph. the amount of air going into your engine didnt change.
the only time that you would get more air into your engine would be when youre racing. then read the last paragraph of my last post.
