The Yankees screwed the pooch on Pettite. They basically let him walk away and offered too little too late. There was an article on ESPN.com where it quoted Pettite's father saying if the Yankees had offered him a contract at the end of the season and went after resigning him more aggresively Houston would not have been an issue.

Vazquez and their bullpen additions so far have been good, but Kevin Brown is certainly not the answer for the Yankees, not like Weaver is, and Maddux will not play in the American league because he does not like the DH rule. As for the Sox I am bitter sweet over the I-Rod for Ramirez deal beacause I really like Nomar, but we could then trade Nomar to the Angels for possibly Jarrod Washburn, since the Angels have a 7 man rotation at the moment.
