I put some tape around the bulb fixture when i did mine so alot of the damage was done to the tape and not the plastic. I read in a post that red bulb, white lens not legal?? Im not sure, haven't been pulled over yet but its only been 1 month. That "orange" piece is PMMA plastic, one of the toughest mothers you will find. (sorry for the FYI, its cuz im a mechanical eng. major) but yea, if I knew that, I might have not done it haha.

I didn't have much problems with that plastic piece, the rotozip bit and the dremel made easy work of it
