Whatever bulb inside the projector really doesn't matter, it's the projector design itself. I've used every bulb on the market in my H3 housing projectors, the CLEAR ones and the "ION" BLUE ones. The light output on the BLUE is really bad. The CLEAR produces somewhat better light. I given up on the candle glow-type light and retro-fitted real Phillips HID in them. The light is brighter, but it's the actual design of the reflectors within the glass, the housing, and inside. The beam pattern is too scattered. HID Bulbs, D2-S's only come in one size, regardless of your housing specifics, the difference between H3 and H4 HID bulbs is just the base where it is mounted in the housing. Lighting will not change. So this is my reasoning behind no dramatic difference between higher wattage bulbs, bigger 9006 bulbs, etc. It has to do with the cheaply made elipsoid sphere. It is significantly different to those glass spheres on Integras, S4's, and BMW's.
Well yes and no. H3 bulbs use a transverse filament, as opposed to axial filament in 9006/9005. This makes for a crappy beam pattern from H3 bulbs. 9004's also use transverse filaments, and let me tell you those suck pretty bad, too (not to mention low beam is only 45W on those). Another difference between H3 projectors and Integra projectors is the size of the housing, and placement of the bulb inside the housing. Yes there is only one type of D2S xenon capsule, but the ones made to retrofit 9006 projector housings are in a different position inside the housing than the ones made to replace H3 bulbs.
I think 9006 projectors are physically larger in both length and diameter than H3 projectors, but sometimes you still can't tell just from pictures.
