With the motor that I got, since I couldn't find one either, I just put in my LS cams to help make up the difference for now. but I've been told their rare and hard to find. That is true, but its not really all that worth the trouble, IF you can put in LS cams If I did find a USDM engine, I would still need to find my own OBD II LS ECU and an intake manifold. I found a guy who claimed to have OBD II manual LS ECU's and '96-'98 EK harness laying around I offered to buy one but he stopped emailing me back (just wanted the harness to allow me to wire the engine with my stock motor still in the car, only car right now). Emissions are not an issue here so older motor in newer car doesn't matter here so I might just go with a JDM engine and a conversion harness and OBD I LS ECU. Like I said, all plans are on hold till spring anyway so I'm not worried.Well, you know you can pick up a conversion harness for next to nothing nowadays, so I know it isn't a big deal. Besides, I am aware of the temp. over there, so I can understand why your putting it on hold. No heater in your garage? Brrrrrrrrrr...
