i did that to my windshield this morning
never HOT water...just warm. warmer than the ice down the door sill & in the lock if it's frozen. my friend poured HOT water on her windshield & it craked all the way across :doh:
i also keep a can of the "windshield deicer" spray in the back floorboard. start the car (remotely
) before i shower & then when i leave it is usually 80% defrosted. just a lil squirt of deicer on the mirrors & i'm ready to go:thumbup:
