I agree with this post.

A "chip" will control fuel/ignition maps, vtec x-over, redline, enable/disable sensors per your request, full-throttle launch, boost, all sorts of nifty stuff.

Here is how I feel about the AFC's "You can add fuel but not spark." I think it's pretty self explanatory.

For a 00 si, you are looking at getting an OBD1 P28 ecu and a conversion harness.
