Well if somebody else knows your Ip and visits the link. windows will prompt for their login credentials like if you were login in tto your local computer. So you will be the only one who can use it.
Im not sure about the Active X. I don't think it uses it on either computer.
Now I know Win2k server has that feature so you can access your computer using the IE brwoser. Im not sure about Xp but I bet you can do that too since it uses the same protocol.
