wow, this thread is pretty freakin long...
anyway, i guess you can tell i'm a big domestic fan. however, i'd probably rather have an nsx over a corvette. i agree with whoever said that there are a lot of corvettes - on my 2.5 hour ride home from the shore, i counted at least 8 c5's just on the highway. that might be the total of nsx's i've ever seen, total. hell, there's at least 3 corvettes on my street!
but come on, they're totally different cars. the nsx is mid engined, with a high powerband - made to handle at high speeds. i knew that nsx ownership was pretty exclusive, but i didn't know they only made 200 a year. vettes are mass produced - they sell 30k a year.
and any complaint you might have about the current c5, will be erased in 2005 with the c6.
all in all, they are both great cars. hopefully one day i'll own both of them, and then i'll be able to report to you guys. but i will definitely own a corvette. you aren't just buying a car, you're buying a history.
there's really no point in arguing. neither side is going to say "you know what, you're right, the other car is better". why can't we just appreciate the fact that honda and gm are producing awesome machines?
oh, and if you think that the ls1 is "low tech", you're just ignorant and when you say it you make yourself look stupid. i suggest you take a look at that article that was posted about how it was developed. gm had goals for the next corvette engine (ls1), and they were able to acheive it with one cam and pushrods. it's cheap, it's light, and it's reliable. you can't argue with results.
