it's the same engine as the 318i 138hp ~135lb of torque.
if you can find a M sports package one it will have very very nice handing!
however, know what you are getting into... It's not a fast car and nothing short of an engine swap (not cheap like honda swaps) is going to make it faster.
the suspension is also twitchy near the limit specially if you don't know what your doing.
That motor is unreliable. I've had friends with 318i's and my father knows a bunch of guys with early Z3's. Engine is always throwing a fit over something.
