I have a 1996 Accord with 100,000 miles (I bought it with only 45k miles) and it does not feel that old to me... nor has it required much in maintenance (I didnt even have to lift the hood other than for oil changes until almost 90,000 miles) I have heard, however, that 6th gen V6s arent as problem free...which is why I am debating trading my 5th gen in for a 2004 V6 coupe. My car has been rear ended three times, twice by a Toyota 4runner and a third time by a Mitsubishi Galant. All three accidents caused significant damage... but my local Honda delaership did a decent repair job and I have had no further problems that could be related to the accident. As with any car, however, you can always tell where it has been repaired... even with the use of factory components. I see small traces of discoloration, and a lot of hidden overspray. Also, the bumper, trunk and tail lamps don't match up as perfectly as they did from the factory. I've owned 5 cars alltogether.. and 3 of them have been rearended and the results were the same. In all cases, however... the accidents did not stem further problems other than bulb blow outs, water in trunk or tail lights, and rear end suspension noises. My Accord has not had any of these problems even after three blows to the butt...still feels solid and middle-aged, not old. It feels like it will easily go another 100 grand. Gotta love those little F22 4 bangers.
