A beer gut comes from the liver regenerating itself, so basically it's mainly dead liver and some usable liver. That's why beer guts are, ahem, "hard." "OH punch it, it's hard, it's not fat."
Why did you start drinking so much?
I was in really good shape back then, it wasn't the gut thing, I just got a whole lot of excercise and ate pretty well. Plus pretty much any time I'd drink back then, I'd be doing something physical, not just sitting around.
I started drinking because I was a kid, and it was the cool thing to do... I continued drinking because I thought it was fun... eventually it just became a habit. Its been getting a little out of hand lately, and I'm trying to cut back. I don't think I'll quit altogether, I just need to excercise a little more self-control.
