so on my 6th gen Accord (OBDII 2.3L SOHC), does the engine automatically advance/retard timing based on what octane gas you are using? Of course it can't "detect" what octane you are using, just how far it can advance without knocking...

I was told that the car would run better on 87 than it would on 93 since my car is stock, and 87 is much easier to combust. I've been using 87 ever since, so the ignition timing hasn't been retarded has it? I really could not feel a difference when going from 89 to 93, or 89 to 87...
