well, due to current technology, we can measure it. We really didn't know it as energy until about 200 years or so ago. You have to remember the scientific advancements in the electro-magnetic feild has done wonders to what we preceive and what 'truely' exists.

Everything we can see, hear, taste, touch, smell used to be only what truely exists. Now, again, due to science, we know there's sooooo much more to our universe. But whats it there for? Whats with all the chaos?

well, if chaos is all there was, sure, I probably would beleive in God as well. But in all this chaos, in all this unseeming mix of different things, there is in fact order, and paterns, and the ability to tie two totally unrelating things togeather. I feel that in itself is enough proof of God. And besides, you must remember I'm not talking about a human-like figure. I'm talking about a collective consciousness, a grouping of all the minds togeather. Total knowledge, that is God. Totally infinate possiblities, but only one reality.

You guys seem to be thinking a little backwards. Saying that we cannot prove he doesn't exist is absurd.

How do I prove that there is no money in my wallet? I show you my empty wallet, done.

How do I prove there is no god? Well, look around. See a god? Feel a god? Can you measure god? No. He doesn't exist.
if this is really how you feel, I feel sorry for you. Your life must be really empty.

If you beleive in coincidence, then you beleive in God. You just don't relize it. Look at the problem from another angle.

If you need religion as your crutch, go right ahead. Just don't call others ignorant for not sharing your blind outdated faith.
outdated? you must not be reading my posts.

religion as a secular beleive, I'll agree, is lame. I will probably rarly go to church for the rest of my life, and if I do, it will be for weddings, funerals, things of that sort.

you, my friend, have shown your ignorance for A) not recognizing a higher idea, therefor thinking only YOU matter, and B) again, not reading my posts.

but hey, your problem's not mine.

"Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people." - Karl Marx
how nice of you to quote a man whoes form of government failed. Anything else?

There's the same arguments behind evolution, origin of man, creation, things of the sort.

Perhaps the answers arn't there yet because this is part of the path we must take. We have 3 major religious powers (jews, christians, muslims) at arms with each other right now. Each of them fighting over what they preceive of God.

Funny thing, they're all preceiving the same thing, just from a different angle/perspective. Like language, where we're all saying the same idea's, just saying them a different way.

going further, you have Buddism, Zen, and all these other religions that preach becoming one with your surroundings, and whatnot. Put them all togeather, and you get God.

No one religion is right. They're all right.

Like 18sec said, and we are agreeing once again, in is pure ignorance to say something does not exist when you do not even know what that something is.

I know God is real, the living God made me who I am today. Over a year ago, I was a drunk, I was addicted to all kinds of filth. I hated everyone and loved nothing. The friends I had were just like me, we would step on anyones feet to get what we wanted. I stole, I cheated, I took things from girls only her husband should have taken. I stopped drinking, and I felt empty. I knew God was real, but I didn't care what God thought, and I didn't want Him in my life. But I felt empty, and I realised I had no where to turn, everything I had was gone. When I turned to God and accepted Jesus, He changed everything. My life with God is 1000 times better than it was without Him. I'm clean, sober and I now live for God. God says in His word that if we seek Him that He will grant the desires of our heart. God is granting the desires because I am being obedient and earnestly seeking Him. God loves everyone of us, no matter our faults. Christ died for our faults, no matter how major they are. All we have to do is accept Him, repent and turn away from our sins and we can be saved. And whe God really does something in someones life, it changes the way that person thinks, acts, and the way the feel. I challege everyone who doesn't believe in God to just check out the Bible, try to prove it wrong. I guarentee that you can't.
and thats your path.

see, we all have similar stories. Ones on how we found the one. God, you know.....

One major step forward for humanity was recongnizing monotheism, from the greeks/romans who later became jews and christians, to the muslims who prayed to 360 idols before muhammad showed them the way.

I think the next step in humanity is to relize each religion is talking about the same things, and we all beleive in one God/Allah, and even when we have a common beleif, we still have diversity because my God is of christian-origin, one of my ex's God is of Jewish-origin, and an old firend of mine has a God of Muslim-origin. Are any of us 100% right? nope. But are any of us 100% wrong? Nope. See, we beleive in something other than ourselves. We don't need to see something to trust it. And what we've seen is Him/her/it effecting our lives in very profound ways....
