One doesn't "believe" in Buddha. You could very well say "I believe Buddha existed but I don't care about his teachings" Gosh knows a lot of Christians would shun at fellow Christians reading good Buddhist literature--but I think they would have a lot to learn. Possibly a lot of what, ahem, they left out in the bible from what he had to say and what other Buddhist have to say. People don't worship Buddha, that's VERY far from the truth.
