i have infinity reference 5.25" components(ref5000cs) up front. i had to cut the back out of the plastic basket, but that took 5 minutes with my dremel and a cut-off wheel. i have an alpine 9813 headunit and those things sing! with the 6.5's, you would have to remove the plastic basket and then you would have clearance problems when ever you rolled down the window.
