I personally think if you live in a hot or cold climate and value your engine synthetics are a better investment. Plus you can wait a little longer between oil changes (not filter changes) with synthetic.

PLus the viscosity stays more consistent with synthetic oils compared to their conventional oil counterparts. So your engine stays protected better from metal to metal contact.
