Because my family is Roman Catholic, with a little bit of Lithuanian Othodox mixed in. They all (the big western three at least) worship the same god, so what difference does it make?
I've never seen a miracle.
I've never been talked to by god.
I've never had anything unexpainably good happen to me.
I can't look up in the sky and see heaven, nor look down and see hell.
I can go to a museum and see fossils.
I can go to pyshics class and see a lot of neat and weird stuff explained.
I can see even the bible itself has been distorted through years of translation and rewording.
In short, I can see there is just no proof their is any higher power, and lots that there isn't. If a god was mighty enough to create all life, don't you think he would at least try to keep up his PR? Maybe zap all the disbelievers once in a while, or at least give us a little more warning of hell and damnation then a single ancient book?
I have nothing against the actual moral teachings of religion, and I do think it has had a profound impact on the overall 'goodness' of the world today, however when people are so driven to hassle me with pamplets and asking me "have you found Jesus?" I think they've lost touch with reality.
