Default The TRUTH about LS rods and D16 rods

The picture below is of what has to be machined off the LS rods to fit onto the D16 cranks.

The picture belows show a bronze-like sleeve that was pressed in by CROWER to fit floating-type wrist pins of D16 pistons. NOTE: CROWER no longer offers this service

The picture below depicts the rod difference between a P2P (Civic EX) rod and a PR4 (ACURA LS) rod.

Using my .001" micrometer, I measured that the LS rods were ~0.171" in larger width than the D16 rods. That may not seem like a lot, but when you hold both rods in each hand; it is a world of difference.

NOTE: LS have same rod length as a D16. No notching of block required! Also of note, the LS has roughly the same redline as the D16; therefore, there should be no problems for these rods to sustain the abuse from the D16 rotating assembly.
