accord sleeper-thats exactly what i thought, but yesterday i drove my friends 00 civic ex, (d16 single cam) and his godamn vtec sounded exactly like my friends gsr. All the civic ex had is e/cai/4-1 headers. This is why I was asking.
i've driven a d16 both versions the 93 version and a 00 version, i didn't notice VTEC like i can in a GSR or Lude. maybe the mods help, but a GSR or Lude has a very distinctive growl when in VTEC land.
ie: i went to to a meet last month with a bunch of guys mostly ludes and they decided to take off a light kinda fast so i took off too. the guy who was behind me comes up to me after we got to where we were going and said "do you got a motor in that thing" and i was like yep. he could tell i had an H22 and not the F22b1.
