I have never understood why anyone would swap from a B18A to a B16A. There really isn't anything you can do to a B16A that you can't do to a B18A. Sure, the B16A revs higher and makes more top-end horsepower, but the price and torque loss is not nearly worth it. I would consider nothing less then a B17A for the DA9 chassis, ideally an LS/VTEC hybrid or a B18C would be used.
Simple and cheap. B17a is much too expensive. B18C too. Most people swap the b16a when the B18a has too many miles; burning oil, grinding gears, etc. Many things can be done to the b16a that will make it fast.
