I've personally seen a hood flip open due to no hood pins and just relying on the hood latch. Remember most of the time the latch on aftermarket hoods are GLUED on instead of bolted to the hood like an OEM hood.
When I had a CF hood I always used pins.
ive personally had a hood come up on me while i was on the freeway,...trust me,...use the hood pins,..thank me later
