I agree with you, but I've always thought: When is there ever going to be a situation in the REAL world where you aren't allowed to use a calculator? I mean, why would an employer tell you that you can't use a calculator? It's just not practical in my opinion.
I think calculators are great its just that you'd waste more time trying to figure something very simple out on a calculator than trying to use your brains.
