that's why you have a rev limiter. to keep you from overrevving and breaking your nice gsr engine into itty bitty gsr-pieces. of course, it can't help much if you drop to second gear at 85mph by accident. but if that happened, as you release the clutch you should notice the huge drag all of a sudden as the engine catches and push the clutch back to the floor asap before it overrevs. rev limiter can't battle mechanical force
