this is absolutely not true. the M does not mean manual at all.
on honda vehicles, the 7th digit indicates auto/manual transmission. if the 7th digit is odd, it's manual. if it's even, it's automatic.

you cannot determine the number of gears in the transmission from the 7th digit, only whether is it manual or auto. this is why i gave you the whole VIN block used for the V6 6-speed transmissions.
