plus sizing the tires

I think this was already answered, but I'm pretty sure a Honda Civic is not made for tires as wide as 245, so rubbing is pretty likely. It may also look bad without a wide body kit because there won't be any room for the tire to go but out. You will probably also need rims with a different offset.

THE TIRE IS TO WIDE AND THE RIM WILL NOT ACCOMODATE IT.
The most you can fit on that rim is 235 ( and I think thats calling it close )
If you want to put 245 width tires you will need to get a 17 x 7.5 or 8 rim.
( doubt will fit on 7.5 )
Theres no easier way to explain this unless I whip out a ruler and physically show you.
dont go by ohh this tire is 20 inches wide so it should fit on this 20 inch rim.
Now the reason you will go down two sizes on the profile is because your trying to fit a wider tire than the rim can sort of handle. So to compensate for the extra width you gotta lower the profile. That way the tire wont buldge out on either size of the rim.
go with 225..and save yourself some headaches.

I know this is a dead thread.... but I felt like adding that WITH the correct size wheel, a 245 mm tire will fit in the wheel well without rubbing anything.
It will not fit the stock 17X7 wheel, but there won't be any rubbing issues.
I didn't put a tire this size on my car, I stuck with the stock 215s.

good choice sticking with the 215, i wouldnt have gone any larger than 225 unless changing suspension components and wheels, and you would lose mpg and add road noise even doing that
what kind of tires and how are you liking them?
i think there are a few si owners on here looking for new tires soon so a little review im sure would be loved
