hey jerseyhondagirl, Glad it worked out for you. Is yours a coupe or sedan?
I was gonna mention the seatbelt thing cuz I gave my sister hell for letting it go and smacking into the plastic trim. The only other thing is do you have a coat with metal buutons or zippers that could be hitting the inside of the door frame when you get in and out? But I guess now that you are aware of it you will watch out.

Never saw the rubbermaid floormats, but I did get some off the internet that are custom fit to the floorplan. They look great too.

regards

Impact chips only on the edges and corners? Honda replaced a couple pieces of plastic trim on my 03 pilot front doors 2 months after I bought it new, becuase the paint started coming off like a bannana peel. With Vessil's account of other reported issues, impacts seem very dubious to me. But since I'm no expert...just glad to hear their going to do something.

" Is yours a coupe or sedan?"

It's a sedan. I doubt it was the seatbelt..it doesn't seem to reach out that far even if I don't hold on to the belt when I let it go. It hits on the inside door frame but doesn't chip that paint off!

So, it's a mystery to me how this happened. At least Honda is going to take care of it. I will buy the recommended door guards too but $95 for the set is steep for me at this time. O

I got the Rubbermaid floor mats at Walmart. They really cover well and I plan on removing my Honda mats for the winter anyway.

.."my buddy has a black one and it does the same thing"

Do you mean the paint is chipping off or it is peeling off?

And make sure you put lots of coats of wax on to protect that paint!

Default Of Course It Chips

It is what happends when it is a bad paint job or a combination of untested, or poorely tested paint mixtures. It is going to come down to calling, logging everything, and escalating. I can assure you, that when at a rate of 3 chips /monts my car will have dozens and is not sellable, Honda has a huge problem

Have i also mentioned that some of the chips on my 06 are also rusting within days? The reply i got from my dealership was "it is your problem, Sir"

Did I mention I also had the "paint and rust protection plan?

Mileage? 11 500 km.

this thing smells more and more like a recall or class action suit. at least that's what my lawer pal told me.

Musashi, which model do you have? That's too bad they wouldn't take any action. My experience was very easy and pleasant. I just got the car back yesterday and it looks good.

A co-worker bought his wife an expensive Chrysler and they found paint chipped off the inside door also before they even took it home! The dealer is having it repainted.

Chryslers used to be notorious for paint fading and flaking off. I had a 2000 Intrepid and it was okay, but I see lots of Caravans on the road with missing paint on the roofs and hoods.
However the name badges Chrysler uses are the cheapest crap around. Within a year mine had all discoloured and peeled. For the first 3 years (under warranty), I kept getting the dealer to replace them. after the warranty expired I just de-badged the car.
