Default Things I should look when buying a 00 accord, suggestions PLEASE!

hey, I have an integra gsr, so I dont know anything about acoords. My parents are looking at a 2000 Accord exvl (v6 I guess) with 56k, black, auto, they are asking $12,900. What do you guys think about this? It's a local honda shop (not quite a dealer) that is selling it. I guess what I really want to know are the things I should be checking on this car and questions I should be asking, other than what I would be looking for on an integra. Also, could u guys tell me the hp and tq specs and 1/4 time for it? All of this info would be greatly appreciated and all opinions are welcome, thanks alot guys... -kyle

Well a friend of mine picked up an 01 accord sedan 6cyl with 22k miles for 13,000.
Absolutely nothing wrong with the car. The car even came with a Xenon body kit on it.

I suspect the car was repo'd from its previous owner and sold for what was owed to the bank.

12,9 doesnt sound bad for that car.
If your parents are looking into this car why would they even care to know the 1/4 mile times? Do they plan on racing?

6cyl
190tq
200hp
1/4 is probably like 15 something..15.9?

some of the v6 trannies were a little suspect. i dont know if there was a recall, but some of them start to slip at higher mileage. i think there is a 60k tuneup that would be due on that black v6 your parents are looking at. other than that, its a good ride. you could possibly find something cheaper, or for the same price with less miles.

didnt the 00-02 accords get a 7 year drivetrain warranty due to trannsmission failure in some of them?? My parents just test drove it and the guy said all the warranties were up. Am I right??? thanks guys. Oh, and he also said for no extra price he could give a 3 year warranty on it. Does the price still need to be brought down??? Are there any other shortcomings I can mention about the accord to get this guy to bring down the price.
