2004 TSX Red Paint Fade
#11
In Australia as well
Hi,
I to have a Honda Euro (Acura TSX) in Milano Red bought new in Feb 2005.
It started to turn pink after a couple of years and is now a cloudy pink all over the surfaces that face the sun.
I was extremely disappointed with Honda Australia's attitude in relation to my attempts to remedy the paint under a warranty claim. It was flatly refused. There was an offer of a 'cut and polish' which I considered to be an admission of liabilty. I refused and unsuccessfully pursued a repaint.
As is noted a 'cut and polish' would have been unsuccessful because the paint fade is in the 1st layer, ie red. There is a clear coat mask over this preventing buffing of the colour.
I have noted that the paint is still shiny, but faded.
I agree with comments here that there is a fault in the paint or application of the paint.
Very disappointing considering the price paid and the expectation of a quality product upon purchase.
I too would be very interested in the Manufacturers response to questions of faulty paint.
Regards
