Default tsx transmission problems?

anyone hear anything about problems w/ the transmissions on the tsx's? i was at the enterprise near the dealer waiting for a car (brought it in for the trunk recall and a rattling noise in the sunroof) and ended up talking to a guy that also had a tsx. either his transmission or his clutch just went on him. can't get into gear. he said the clutch was feeling soft and he had an appointment for next week to bring it in but it just went today. he also mentioned the last time he was at the dealer there were 2 people in there for the transmissions on their tl's. the one person was on his 3rd. now i'm concerned... i never heard about honda/acuras having troubles w/ the transmissions but looking on this forum i'm seeing quite a bit.

anyone have any more info specific to the tsx?

Problems were all on V6 models with the 5 speed autos.

The TSX is exempt, so no worries.

if the problem is only with the manual transmissions you have to ask yourself y would it only be with manuals? In a $25000 TSX or a $35000 TL. Most people if spending that much money on a "family car" would get an automatic. That must mean that they are looking for more that just a car to get them from point a to point b. Granted that some people (like myself) just prefer a maunal. But l would guess that those people (like myself) also like to drive hard. If you dont give a new car time to break in and just start driving the shit out of it then more than likely you will have problems with it.

I acutally had a problem with my TSX 6MT off the lot. The car only had 17 miles on it. Third gear would grind, bad synchro, sorta weird I guess. They fixed it though, runs great now.

Default 08 TSX transmission

Hi all,
Can anyone relate to this problem?

I just bought a new 08 TSX about a year and a half ago. It has approximately 11K on it. It was making a flapping/ clanking noise and then I took it to dealership.

The service agent said it was a transmission/synchro issue. They refused to repair it, because they pulled up an over-rev code on the engine log. (P0129) With this claim, they are saying that it is not a manufacturing defect, and refuse to make the repair.

1) What does the engine Over-rev, have to do with the transmission breakdown?
2) Is Acura using the P-code as a reason, not to make a legitimate repair?

if anyone can help, or have a similar situation, please advise.
thanks

Default 2008 TSX - transmission problem

I have a 20,000+ miles TSX '08 - leaking transmission oil - may have a transmission problem. This should still be covered under warranty. But this is news to me - Acura cars don't have transmission problems in still pretty new car!!!
